Fenomena "Crop Circles" Terjadi sejak 1686

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Misteri crop circles seperti terjadi di sawah Desa Rejosari, Jogotirto, Berbah, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Minggu (23/1/2011), memang fenomena baru di Indonesia.

Namun, di luar negeri fenomena itu sudah dicatat sejak lama, bukan dari abad lalu saja. Pada 1686, Prof Robert Polt, LDD menulis dalam penerbitan A Natural History of Staffordshire.

Robert Poll adalah "penjaga" pertama Museum Ashomolean dan profesor kimia di Oxford. Ia menggambarkan, bentuknya bukan hanya lingkaran, melainkan area yang rata "terdiri tiga bagian dari lingkaran, lainnya adalah setengah lingkaran, beberapa lagi kuadran."

Bentuk-bentuk itu ditemukan di lahan yang subur dan di padang terbuka. Bukan hanya satu, kadang-kadang bahkan dua dan tiga lingkaran.

Lantas, pada Juli 1880 terbit sebuah jurnal ilmiah prestisius, Nature, yang memuat surat dari seorang spectroscopist bernama J Rand Capron. Ia menggambarkan temuannya soal formasi unik di Inggris bagian selatan.

"Membentuk spot bundar dengan beberapa tangkai yang berdiri sebagai pusatnya, beberapa tangkai ambruk dengan bagian kepala tertata apik membentuk lingkaran di sekitar pusat, dan di luarnya adalah lingkaran tangkai yang utuh."

Setelah itu, lebih banyak lagi catatan tentang munculnya bentuk-bentuk misterius tersebut dengan pola yang berbeda-beda dan bahkan sangat menakjubkan.

Di Inggris, ia sering kali muncul di dekat situs-situs kuno, seperti Stonehenge yang terkenal karena bebatuan raksasa tersusun teratur dan mengesankan betapa manusia kuno sudah mempunyai teknologi canggih untuk membangunnya.

Namun, crop circles juga muncul di Amerika Serikat yang tergolong tidak mempunyai jejak peradaban kuno, kecuali wilayah yang semula didiami oleh bangsa Indian kuno.

Kini, di Amerika pula ada kelompok studi yang mempelajari fenomena ini secara ilmiah, namanya Burke, Levengood, Talbott (BLT) Research Team.

Mereka mendokumentasikan banyak sekali fenomena crop circles, mewawancarai para saksi mata, dan menganalisisnya dari berbagai segi. Namun, mereka pun belum mempunyai jawaban memuaskan. Crop circles masih misteri hingga kini.

Garuda Bakal Terbangi India

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Pemerintah Indonesia dengan India pada Selasa (25/1/2011) ini, dijadwalkan akan melakukan menandatangani air services agreement atau kesepakatan perjanjian hubungan udara terbaru. Garuda pun siap untuk beroperasi ke negeri Bollywood tersebut.

Direktur Jenderal Perhubungan Udara, Herry Bakti Singayudha Gumay mengatakan, perjanjian yang akan diteken oleh Menteri PerhubunganFreddy Numberi dengan otoritas penerbangan India adalah mengenai definisi wilayah, penunjukan perusahaan penerbangan, tarif, serta keselamatan dan keamanan penerbangan. "Ya, kita akan melakukan revisi perjanjian dengan Pemerintah India," kata Herry di New Delhi, India saat dihubungi dari Jakarta, Senin(24/1/2011).

Dalam situs resmi Kemenhub, perjanjian baru itu merupakan revisi atas air service agreement antarkedua negara sebelumnya yang telah ditandatangani pada 18 September 1968. Sebelumnya juga telah dilakukan perundingan hubungan udara untuk merevisi perjanjian yang ada. Perundingan dilakukan di New Delhi, India, pada 25 Mei-26 Mei 2010.

Di dalam revisi perjanjian udara, kedua negara sepakat menganut multi designated airlines, untuk penunjukan perusahaan penerbangan. Artinya, tidak hanya satu maskapai yang bisa melayani rute RI, India.

Herry menambahkan, sejumlah maskapai tertarik memberikan layanan penerbangan ke India. Namun asas resiprokal (asas timbal balik), jelasnya, yang akan direvisi lagi. Menurutnya, asas tersebut telah ada payungnya, namun perjanjian yang baru akan dilihat kondisinya dulu.

Seperti diberitakan sebelumnya, Dirut Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar mengatakan tahun ini akan beroperasi ke beberapa rute regional antara lain, Mumbai dan New Delhi.

Manajer Komunikasi Eksternal Senior Garuda, Ikhsan Rosan, mengatakan, rencananya Garuda akan mengoperasikan pesawat jenis Boeing 737-800 NG. "Belum bicara pastinya kapan, tetapi tahun ini ditargetkan bisa buka. Kalau pesawatnya telah ada, kita langsung terbang," kata Ikhsan.

Selain Garuda, Presiden Direktur Mandala Airlines, Diono Nurjadin juga menyatakan melirik rute regional tersebut. Namun saat ini Mandala telah berhenti operasi, menurutnya, kalau telah beroperasi kembali, maka Mandala akan membuka rute ke India.

JELANG tutup tahun 2010 sepakbola Indonesia bergelora. Penampilan tim nasional (timnas) di ajang AFF Cup 2010 berhasil menyedot antusiasme luar biasa dari publik Tanah Air. Kegandrungan terhadap Laskar Merah-Putih meningkat tajam. Semua kalangan tidak ketinggalan membicarakan performa Firman Utina dkk di lapangan mulai dari kalangan masyarakat umum hingga kepala negara.

Timnas menjelma sebagai idola baru dan AFF Cup 2010 menjadi momentum kebangkitan kembali nasionalisme bangsa lewat sepakbola setelah Piala Asia 2007 silam. Namun ironis, kegagalan lagi-lagi mendera. Tampil gemilang sejak awal turnamen, Timnas harus memperpanjang penantian 14 tahun untuk bisa merengkuh trofi pentas sepakbola se-Asia Tenggara setelah gagal menaklukkan Malaysia pada partai final yang dihelat dengan menggunakan format home-away.

Pembenahan di tangan Riedl
Walaupun tidak bisa mengangakat piala, namun secara performa timnas di AFF Cup 2010 pantas diberi acungan jempol. Racikan tangan dingin Alfred Riedl dianggap sebagai faktor utama. Dengan gaya kepelatihan yang tak kenal kompromi, pria asal Austria berhasil memadukan pemain senior dan junior dalam sebuah tim.

Meskipun menuai sukses, perjalanan Riedl di awal masa tugasnya cukup berliku. Banyak pihak meragukan kapasitasnya, terlebih pada sebuah laga persahabatan timnas dicukur habis 1-7 oleh Uruguay.

Pertikaian dengan pemain juga sempat menghadang jelang tampil di AFF Cup 2010. Sikap Riedl yang tidak mengenal toleransi membuat penyerang andalan Boaz Salossa tersisih karena alasan indisipliner. Keputusan itu tentu disayangkan oleh banyak pihak.

Namun Riedl bisa menjawab segala kritik yang menghujam. Pada laga pembuka AFF Cup 2010 timnas membuat gebrakan dengan menyikat Malaysia 5-1. Kebintangan bomber asal Papua juga langsung terlupakan. Masuknya pemain naturalisasi Christian Gonzales tidak dipungkiri memberikan kontribusi besar buat timnas. Sebagai bukti nyata ialah dua gol yang disarangkannya striker Cristian 'El-Loco' Gonzales ke gawang Filipina pada laga semifinal di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK).

Untuk Riedl kehadiran penyerang berjuluk El-Loco (Si Gila) merupakan sebuah solusi atas minimnya pilihan penyerang berkualitas yang berlaga di kompetisi lokal. Sebagaimana diketahui klub-klub Liga Super Indonesia (LSI) lebih gemar memakai jasa pemain asing untuk mengisi posisi striker.

Selain Gonazales, pemain berdarah campuran Irfan Bachdim juga memberikan warna baru bagi timnas. Pemain 22 tahun yang sempat mengeyam pendidikan di akademi sepakbola Ajax Amsterdam menjadi amunisi ampuh lain di lini serang. Catatan khusus, selama AFF Cup 2010, Bachdim adalah pemain yang paling banyak mendapat sorotan. Wajah tampannya dianggap menjadi magnet bagi para fans wanita.

Sentimen anti-Malaysia dan juara baru
Sejak awal sentimen anti Malaysia sudah diperkiran menjadi pemanas persaingan di AFF Cup 2010. Tergabung dalam satu grup di babak penyisihan, uniknya Indonesia malah menjadi penyelamat Malaysia.

Pada laga terakhir, timnas yang sudah dipastikan lolos ke babak semifinal dengan status juara grup memuluskan langkah anak-anak asuh Khrisnasamy Rajagopal dengan mengalahkan Thailand sebagai pesaing ketat mereka dalam memperebutkan posisi runner-up di grup A.

Tanpa diduga-duga kedua Negara bertetangga kembali bersua di partai puncak. Sialnya saat itu Harimau Malaya sudah mengasah taring. Pada laga pertama di di Bukit Jalil mereka mencabik-cabik Timnas Garuda dengan kemenangan 3-0. Namun kecurangan sempat mewarnai jalannya pertandingan. Pendukung Malaysia sengaja menggunakan laser untuk mengganggu konsentrasi pemain timnas.

Untuk pertemuan kedua di SUGBK, masyarakat Indonesia diimbau tidak mencontoh perbuatan pendukung lawan. Pihak-pihak terkait pengelola jalannya laga berusaha keras menciptakan situasi kondusif. Hasilnya, acungan jempol buat public sepakbola Indonesia. Mereka membuktikan diri sebagai bangsa yang beradab dengan tidak menganggu jalannya pertandingan dan tidak menimbulkan kekacauan.

Namun ada satu yang kurang, yakni fakta bahwa timnas gagal merengkuh gelar. Malaysia tampil sebagai juara baru meskipun kalah 2-1 di pertemuan kedua. Sebuah ironi karena tim dari negara yang dalam beberapa waktu belakangan dinilai telah sering kali melecehkan martabat bangsa bisa berpesta di hadapan 95 ribu supporter Merah-Putih.

Kisruh tiket
Kekisruhan penjualan tiket juga jadi topik hangat selama pagelaran AFF Cup 2010. Mulai dari laga semifinal yang terpaksa dilangsungkan dua kali di SUGBK karena Filipina tidak memiliki venue yang layak, banyak supporter yang mengaku kesulitan mendapatkan tiket. Sistem pengelolaan yang semrawut membuat banyak pihak kecewa kepada panitia lokal.

Puncaknya di final kedua, serbuan supporter sejak H-5 membuat panitia kewalahan. Namun banyak yang menilai hal semacam itu seharusnya tidak perlu terjadi jika saja panitia lebih siap. Apalagi sempat tercium dugaan kecurangan dari panitia yang hanya menginginkan keuntungan tanpa memberikan pelayanan maksimal.

Beberapa hal yang patut dicermati selepas AFF Cup 2010. Dari sisi positif, nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang belakangan mulai memudar bisa kembali bangkit lewat sepakbola. Seluruh elemen masyarakat bisa bersatu padu dalam sebuah tekad mendukung timnas. Selain itu bangsa Indonesia juga berhasil membuktikan diri sebagai bangsa yang berbudaya dengan tidak melakukan tidak kekacauan meskipun bangsa lain memperlakukan dengan kurang baik. Sementara dari sisi negatif, kacaunya pengelolaan tiket pertandingan telah merefleksikan kapasitas PSSI sebagai institusi paling paling berwenang atas urusan sepakbola.

MUI Ingatkan Umat Jangan Terjebak Fenomena UFO

JAKARTA - Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) mengimbau umat Islam jangan mudah terprovokasi dan terjebak dengan fenomena aneh seperti UFO atau alien agar tidak terjerumus pada kemusyrikan.

"Umat diimbau jangan terprovokasi dengan hal-hal itu, sehingga akidahnya jadi kacau," jelas Ketua MUI Bidang Fatwa Ma`ruf Amin kepada okezone, Selasa (25/1/2011).

Dia mengatakan, umat harus memelihara keyakinannya sehingga tidak terkotori oleh hal-hal yang berbau mistik. "Soal mahluk di luar manusia itu memang ada dan harus diyakini karena dalam Alquran juga disebutkan. Tapi bukan UFO atau alien, lebih dimaknai sebagai malaikat, jin, atau mahluk lainnya," papar Ma`ruf Amin.

Lantaran menyangkut akidah, maka ulama harus terus menerus menyadarkan umat agar tidak tergelincir dari keyakinan keliru. "Yang penting akidah harus dijaga. "Kalau pun ada makluk lain, semua itu adalah mahluknya Allah. Semua diciptakan Allah. Sebab itu, harus kembali kepada Sang Pencipta. Jangan terbawa provokasi," katanya mengingatkan lagi.

Ma`ruf Amin juga meminta media massa tidak terlalu membesar-besarkan dan mengekploitasi berita mengenai mahluk asing ini. "Coba berikan informasi yang mendidik. Jangan menyampaikan hal-hal yang tidak ada kaitannya dengan agama," harapnya.

Dalam Alquran Surat Al-Baqarah (2:117): "Allah Pencipta langit dan bumi, dan bila Dia berkehendak (untuk menciptakan) sesuatu, maka (cukuplah) Dia hanya mengatakan kepadanya: “Jadilah!” Lalu jadilah ia".

Kemudian Surat Asy-Syuura (42:29): "Di antara (ayat-ayat) tanda-tanda-Nya ialah menciptakan langit dan bumi dan makhluk-makhluk yang melata Yang Dia sebarkan pada keduanya. Dan Dia Maha Kuasa mengumpulkan semuanya apabila dikehendaki-Nya".

Kedua ayat suci dalam Al Quran ini menegaskan bahwa langit dan bumi adalah ciptaan Allah dan dikeduanya, baik di langit dan bumi oleh Allah juga diciptakan makhluk-makhluk melata (makhluk yang berjalan di permukaan tanah) dan menghuni baik di langit (bintang/planet lain) maupun di bumi.

Sebelumnya, warga Dusun Kracakan dihebohkan dengan pemandangan aneh di lokasi persawahan dusun setempat. Pemandangan aneh itu berupa robohnya batang padi yang membentuk beberapa lingkaran besar dan kecil.

Anehnya, lingkaran batang padi yang roboh tersebut seperti tulisan kaligrafi. Sedangkan besarnya lingkaran diperkirakan antara 15-20 meter. Bahkan, ada yang menduga pemandangan aneh itu merupakan bekas pendaratan pesawat UFO dari planet lain.

Profesor peneliti Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Nasional (Lapan) Thomas Djamaluddin menilai pola tersebut sebagai bentuk rekayasa dari orang-orang ahli.“Saya menduga itu hasil rekayasa tangan-tangan kreatif. Di banyak negara terbukti crop circle adalah hasil rekayasa kreatif manusia,” kata Thomas.

Dia menjelaskan, meskipun lokasi “pendaratan UFO” berada di bawah kabel listrik tegangan tinggi (Sutet) tidak akan mempengaruhi pola.

“Pola geometris di Sleman bukan juga disebabkan oleh puting beliung atau pengaruh elektromagnetik dari SUTET (Saluran Udara Tegangan Ekstra Tinggi milik PLN). Puting beliung tidak akan menghasilkan pola yang rapih. Sutet pun tidak akan memberi dampak pola geometris, karena tanaman padi tidak terpengaruh oleh medan listrik atau medan magnet dari jaringan listrik itu,” jelasnya.(ram)

USU Tembus Peringkat 91 Dunia Webometrics

MEDAN- Universitas Sumatera Utara berhasil menembus jajaran 100 dunia kategori Repositori versi Webometrics. Dalam Ranking Web of World Repositories Webometrics edisi Januari 2011 itu, USU menempati peringkat 91.

Rektor USU Prof. Syahril Pasaribu melalui Kepala Bagian Humas Bisru Hafi, menyampaikan kegembiraannya atas prestasi USU tersebut. "Ini merupakan hasil kerja keras dari seluruh sivitas akademik USU," ungkap Prof. Syahril seperti disampaikan Bisru di Kampus USU Padang Bulan, Medan, Senin (24/1/2011).

Posisi USU masih berada di atas peringkat universitas terkenal di Asia lainnya, seperti Tokyo Gakugei University (93) dan Hirosima University (98) di Jepang, serta University of Sydney di Australia yang berada di peringkat 99.

Selain USU, dua perguruan tinggi negeri (PTN) lainnya juga masuk dalam peringkat 100 dunia kategori Repository Webometrics tersebut, yakni, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya di peringkat 64 dan Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) Semarang di peringkat 70.

Pada kategori Top 100 Institutional Respitory, USU menempati peringkat ke-83. Sementara Undip unggul di posisi ke-55, disusul oleh ITS di peringkat ke-57.

Ditambahkan Bisru, Pembantu Rektor IV USU Prof. Ningrum Natasya Sirait yang membidangi hubungan kerja sama, telah menerima ucapan selamat dari para dosen di Universitas Indonesia (UI). UI masih belum berkesempatan masuk dalam Top 100 dunia pemeringkatan website perguruan tinggi versi Webometrics ini. Ucapan selamat juga datang dari relasi dan mitra USU di Amerika Serikat.

Webometrics merupakan sebuah lembaga survei internasional perguruan tinggi yang populer dan berkedudukan di Eropa. Lembaga ini secara rutin menerbitkan hasil pemeringkatannya dari sekira 12 ribu perguruan tinggi di dunia.

Pemeringkatan Repositori Institusional oleh Webometrics bertujuan mengukur komitmen perguruan tinggi dalam memberikan akses layanan bagi masyarakat luas terhadap karya-karya ilmiah dan hasil penelitian khas yang dimiliki suatu perguruan tinggi. Karya-karya itu mencakup antara lain artikel, jurnal, laporan penelitian, disertasi, tesis, dan skripsi.

Pemeringkatan Webometrics ini didasarkan pada empat kriteria, yakni jumlah halaman web, visibility (jumlah backlink), jumlah file dokumen, dan scholar (jumlah karya yang diindeks oleh Google Scholar).

USU e-Repositori merupakan diseminasi karya-karya dosen dan mahasiswa USU yang berbentuk tulisan karya ilmiah. Menurut Kepala Pusat Sistem Informasi USU Ridwan A Siregar, USU memiliki lebih dari 19.300 karya ilmiah sivitas akademik sebagai konten lokal. Seluruh karya ilmiah itu dimuat pada situs USU-Repositori dengan alamat http://repository.usu.ac.id/ yang telah diperkenalkan sejak 2001 dan telah dikembangkan lebih intensif dalam dua tahun terakhir.
